On my iphone I use SPARK to handle both my Outlook and Gmail accounts.

On my Ipad I prefer separate Gmail and Outlook apps.

I thought some time ago there were concerns about the native IOS Mail app ?

i prefer outlook actually for gmail. Interface is better handled multiple accounts. And the snooze function is invaluable! it’s the killer function. I use it all the time for reminders. Like to renew my professional license I’ll take a pic, email it to self, then snooze. Same with car registration, property tax, etc. Gmail has that feature but Mail is totally lame cause it downer have. #never_late

It’s really too bad apple sleeps in these features. How hard can this feature be? Outlook isn’t even the first one to have the snooze function, I’ve been using this for at least 5 years starting with mailbox but I’d love to switch to apple mail 100% but it takes too long.

When it comes to such things as mail, contacts, reminders, notes and calendars, I try to stay away from all things Apple.
Apple has yet to demonstrate any competence in internet services, but they've been demonstrating incompetence for years. My calendar is important to me, my contacts I've been curating for many years, my email is a necessary evil. I would never let Apple be authoritative for anything I cared about.

I migrated all these things to Fastmail years ago.

I was using Gmail for Gmail accounts and Apple Mail for all others. I consolidated to Apple Mail only and I find it much better, more streamlined.

Gmail all the way. I have all my contacts, calendars, and documents synced with google/gmail. And last time I checked the Mail app didn’t offer push services from gmail accounts, so the choice was obvious for me...

I use Mail.app for iCloud and two Exchange accounts, and Gmail for my personal Gmail account and a G-Suite account. I prefer the first one because it's more in line with Apple's design aesthetics but if you want to use Gmail's more advanced features(labels, snooze etc) you will have to use the Gmail app. I also prefer to keep things kinda separated, I think it would be too clunky trying to manage 5 email accounts with one app.

Gmail opens a door into your privacy. When you use the Gmail App or Apple mail app or Outlook by using Gmail your privacy is no longer private

I use Gmail on my iPhone. I don't like the UI as much as the Mail app, however I need to receive new emails immediately and the emails received adhere to my dark mode preference. With the Mail app you get blinding white emails at times regardless. (This drives me crazy.) I use the Mail app on my Mac despite this issue.

I have had my own email servers for years. Years ago to test my accounts and servers I decided setup a Gmail account. When I sent a message to the Gmail account, it started to show ads for related subjects on the right side of the window. The bastards were scanning my email messages to make money off me. Vowed never to to use them again or recommend them to anybody.

Both. I prefer mail because it is a first party app. Guaranteed to have access to it across all my devices in any situation.

I don’t have this confirmed but to me Mail is almost always the safest option. Still, Gmail as a service in whole has ability to read and track your e-mail regardless of e-mail app you use, so if you are OK with Gmail app, why bother to change it? If you want something more private go all for iCloud account with Mail app. 😉

My iCloud email account regardless of mail client gets more junk/spam.

Outlook web client has the most thorough ability to use rules.

Apple Mail method for inserting attachments or photos in iOS is criminal. Pasting text also.

Proton mail is still it seems is a work in progress and very beta.

I don’t use either. I don’t use Gmail because it’s Google. Yahoo has bad TOS and I only use it because I set it up in 1998 or 99.
I use that for stuff that might result in spam and use ProtonMail for important things such as talking to doctors or bills etc.

I use the Gmail app only to mark mail as spam for my Gmail accounts. Other than that, I stick to Apple mail for all my accounts (which includes iCloud and Fastmail).

I do wonder about the security of the Gmail app itself. I'm more wary of Google when I use an application written by them then when I just use iMap to interact with their mail servers. Once a Google app is running, the safety its side-channel activity (activity other than iMap/SMTP) has to be considered.

i use the mail app with an icloud and gmail account.
with icloud no problem but with gmail i have to update manually sometimes... but this is no big deal for me.

I use Gmail app for google accounts and outlook for Microsoft email accounts. There are certain apps I hate. the apple mail is one of them. Only second to apple maps.

I’m a bit sceptical on Google‘s use of my data so stopped using my Gmail email account a couple of years ago.

Now, I use 2 email accounts across all of my Apple devices and Mac :

Personal - Mail with an iCloud email account
Work - Outlook with a MS365 email account

Both seem to work just fine.

I started with AOL and continue to present many many many years. What am I missing ???
my parents use AOL and have it set up on the MAIL app. I don't see an issue with using AOL, it is a provider that gives you a service.
