mail problem

so i installed the MobileMe package on my computer and it worked fine and then i installed it on a friends and now mail wont open. the program gets the light under the icon in the dock then the light goes away and i get the message " that mail was forced to quit"

Had a very similar problem (it was really strange - the dock icon turned into the generic application icon and mail stopped launching).

I reinstalled the mail app from the Leopard DVD and then it worked fine, even after re-running the MobileMe installation.
