mail problems... asking for password?

mail has been working perfectly for about a year now up until this morning... i clicked "get mail" and it keeps popping up asking for my password.... i restarted my computer and its still doing the same thing, i cant receive or send any mail b/c it keeps popping up asking for my password... i have entered it about 50 times and it just keeps asking for it

I sometimes have this. It's usually a problem on Apples end.

It should stop in time.

Just checking, you haven't changed the password that accesses your email but not changed it in the settings in Mail?

Is it a @mac.com email or hotmail etc?
