Mail putting forwarded text in a .htm attachment

My boss is having an issue where any time he replies to or forwards a message in Mail, the original text doesn't show below his message. Instead, it is put into a .htm attachment. Sometimes his signature is placed in a second .htm attachment.

He has a MBP running Lion. I have a MBA running Lion as well, but don't have the issue he does. We've compared mail settings and everything seems to be the same.

Anyone have an idea how I can get his issue fixed? Thanks!
