Mail question

Hi all,

i'm fairly new to mac and am going away for a month. I am wondering if there is an out of the office function on mail to auto reply to e mails with a standard message.

Also is there any way of forwarding my e mail to another address.

That is something you need to check with the e-mail service provider.

For example, if you are using Googlemail, you would set your vacation & forwarding preferences on the appropriate website page.

the mail is direct from my server. xxxxx@samplebusiness.com for example

i know you can do it in thunderbird

don’t send yourself a test email from this account! This will start an email loop and will fill up your Inbox and your Sent Mail. Not pretty…

If you go to your preferences and Rules. From there you can make a rule that says If To field matches your email, then reply and enter your reply message. That's the only way I know.
