Hi everybody
I have set rules for outgoing messages but they seem not working, so I start wondering if rules can be applied to outbound messages too 😱!!!
If yes, can anybody please advice me about to do it?
Thanks
Fabio

The first sentence in Mail Help's "Managing messages using rules" reads "You can set up rules to filter incoming messages or reorganize messages you’ve already received." No mention of outgoing but it may depend on what you're trying to do.

There's a $25 add-on for Mail called "Mail Act-On" that might solve complex outgoing rules problems.

Hi Brian
I have few folders where rules send inbound messages; say I have a folder named DREAM where all inbound messages containing support@dreamhost.com in "From" field are placed.
What I was trying to achieve with rules was to automatically place all sent messages where "To" field contains support@dreamhost.com in the same DREAM folder.
Which is currently not happening although I have a rule with this setting.

Have you tried selecting all of you sent messages, right-clicking them, then "Apply Rules"?

Also, what email service are you using?

Yep! That works!
So they are not applied automatically on outbound messages?
I use mostly Gmail and Yahoo Mail.
