Apps Mail says I have 2 new messages, but I don't...

For some reason when I get email notifications through on my watch, some come through fine, however sometimes it will say I have 2 messages from the same sender, but I don't I only have 1

Any ideas what the issue may be and how to resolve this?

Every now and then I get a message with a bad time stamp, then when I look at messages I don't see anything new. However, scrolling to the end of the list I see a new one. Maybe it's something like that.

Go to Mail and view only Unread messages (if an "Unread" box isn't already visible, I think you can make it available in Mail's Settings).

Like CobraPA said, sometimes a timestamp isn't correct, and the unread email will be buried somewhere among your hundreds of other already-read messages.

Not a clue what it is, I've unpaired the watch too and still no joy

All my emails are read I have 0 unread emails, on my phone or on my comp, it's purely when I get notifications it says I have 2, even though it's only 1 and it only shows 1 notification on my iPhone
