Mail Server Offline

My doctor is trying to send mail from MAIL using her www.doctorWhatever.com domain and she's getting error message that her server is offline. I told her I'd post here because I don't know how to fix it and she also gets her mail on her iPhone and I don't have an iPhone. I only use MAIL and sometimes get that message for my domain email server, but I can still send. Any ideas? Thanks, Mamaglee
