My Mail is not letting me send emails, this message is what appears. It will let me receive emails, it will then send them occassionally after I shut it down sometimes. I know my password is correct, that is not the issue. Is this just some weird bug? Anyone else having this problem? It's really a pain in my butt. Also does anyone know if I can hook up a G-mail account to Mail? Thank you my mac friends.

That error message you get is probably your smtp server's fault. 😉
You can test your server without mail by using the terminal (in your utilities folder). Just type:
Code:
telnet whatever.server-you.use 25
You should have some output. To be sure you can now type 'helo' and see what is responds. Type 'quit' to close the connection.
If it didn't work, contact your isp, if it did you should look further into checking mail.app. In that case you could try to repair permissions and/or trash your mail prefs.

Gmail works fine with mail. You just have to enable POP access in your gmail prefs, everything else will be explained by gmail.

Good luck
