I have set up a sound to play when certain messages are received. It seems that very often the sound occurs much later than when the message is received. For example, hours later.

Is this a known "feature?"

I haven't heard of this happening, try resetting the mail sound to some thing different

This is very, very odd. I did change the sound. Then about 10 minutes later, the old sound played for an email that came in 20 minutes before.

The only explanation seems to me to be that somehow the sound gets triggered, but then it takes its own sweet time to actually play. Of course, that is "impossible" as you would really have to go out of your way to make it work that way.

Now I think I have found a bug.

Not only did I change the sound, but that particular sounds seems to be played at random times. I have confirmed that none of my 80 or so rules other than the one in question plays a sound.

So, this seems to be inexplicable, and seems buggy.
