mail spelling correction

I'm sick and tired of apple correcting my written text when it automatically assumes english as first language.

Is there a way of forcing a language by mail document, like in OSX where one can switch language on keyboard directly ?

wow 147 reads no replies.... I did some googling and found this that was real helpful. It's not as good as selecting the keyboard in iOS, but for the moment it will not cause more trouble.
