My idea of proper mail sequence:

Reply or compose message
Press Send
A spinning gear or progress bar indicates negotiation in progress

if mail send successful then
-play swoosh sound
else
-play fail sound
-display error message
end if

There you go apple. 101 programming.
Not so difficult.

Apple: PLEASE...

In iOS6, the behavior for the mail swoosh sound appears to happen the second the send button is pressed. Before, it happened when the mail was (presumably) accepted by the smtp server.

The problem is now there is no way to know if the message was actually sent unless you check the outbox and sent folders.

I use my phone to send important emails in the work environment.
We need this issue addressed as soon as possible.

I actually think this is more important than the maps issue.

If this is an issue for others, please send feedback as I have done to apple.

Agree. I hate it. I thought it was a bug. People here seem to think of it as a new feature.

I couldn't wait to see if fixed.

NO - swoosh still before SMTP negotiation, and I still can't send or reply to Exchange emails without an error occurring when on wifi.

What gives apple??? :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
