Mail version of outlook archive

Hi people. I'm slowly migrating away from using my PC to my mac. One of the last things I'm holding on to is MS Outlook. I have years of emails organised in different folders and I have these archived each month so I don't have to look at them day to day but can access them if i need to. I like to be ale to browse all these folders. I have set up an IMAP account on Mac Mail to take over from MS outlook but can I archive?

Also, is their a way of transferring my old emails from the archive folders in Outlook (2003)? I've searched the forums and they seem to suggest the file formats don't match. I was wondering if anyone knows of way of doing it.
