I have my work e-mail (Outlook Exchange) set up on my iphone. I set certain e-mail addresses as contacts and listed them as VIP in my mail settings. I set VIP to have specific unique sound/vibrate patterns as well as a pop up alerts.

Isn't working...basically they are acting like normal e-mails. Any way to fix this ?

Are those emails appearing as coming from VIP users/emails in the Mail app (they would have a gray star next to them on the left)?

Yeah they are. I think I narrowed down the problem.

I have the distribution list as a VIP. Problem is, the sender sends an e-mail directed to the distribution list. So essentially the FROM is from the sender and the TO is the distribution list. the sender is not a VIP because the sender could be from anyone who sends an email to the distribution list.

Example:
FROM: John Smith
TO: Distribution List (VIP)

Since the VIP is the TO field and not the FROM field, I don't get a VIP alert.

Does this make sense ? Any suggestions or work arounds ? Thanks
