MAIL w/iMac Obstacle

    In trying to set up my new iMac, I have run into a snag with the resident email program, MAIL: I cannot send a message with the current configuration.

    Every time I attempt to send an email, a prompt appears saying enter password. When I do so, it says the SMTP server has rejected my user password and to please re-enter password. So I keep re-entering it going around in circles and getting no where.

    Any suggestions? Is there any help page for MAIL that would provide an answer and where would I find it?

    The issue does not exist with, but with your email server.

    I'd recommend consulting your email provider for the information you need.
