On A Apple
ok so today and a while before I could never send mail from Mail. I keep getting this error:

The sender address [my email] was rejected by the server smtp.live.com.

Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click Try Later to leave the message in your Outbox until it can be sent.

Sending from: [name] [my email]

I have all the settings right following what others have said, but it wont send. It will get the emails, but no sending :(

Find a new mail server. For some reason it doesn't like your email address or something about it's formatting. Would need to see more details of the message to be sure.

Well that's the only message I get when I try and and mail. **btw it's a hotmail email** and that's all the info I'll give out without giving away my email and name... >_> which I don't wanna do :p

On the hotmail website I have found the following:
SMTP (outgoing) server: smtp.live.com
SMTP port: 25
If you run into problems sending mail, try "587" for the SMTP port instead.
SMTP SSL required: yes
SMTP authentication: yes
SMTP user name: your full Windows Live Hotmail email address
SMTP password: your Windows Live Hotmail password

Have you tried setting the smtp port to 25 or 587?
