mail wont work= HELP im confused

i get an message that my mail program cannot update your mailboxes because my home directory is full.

you must free up spacein your home folder before using mail. deleted unneeded docs or move docs to another folder.

BUT i freed up 3+ gigs of free room on hard drive. so. im confused as to why space is still unavail.

right now im kinda of screwed... don't know whats going on in my mac and i cant access emails, or get new ones.

argh.

How much free disk space do you have?
Have you restarted since you freed up the disk space?

It may be that your email space is full on the server. So if you are using gmail, sign on the gmail and delete messages. Or whatever provider you use.

But what do i know.

i have 3.46gb free on hard drive. and i dont use gmail.

.mac and a pop acct.

i have restarted
