A couple months ago, I dissevered the app "Mailboxes" that will auto-sign in to the Gmail web interface:

http://lilliputlabs.com/products/mailboxes/

It's a great app, but when I went to re-download it on my Wife's iPad, I was unable to find it in the app store. Following the app store link on the page above, I get "Your request could not be completed." - useful error message.

Can anyone else get to the app?

Do apps just evaporate from the app store? Maybe the developer didn't renew their apple Dues?

I emailed the developer and got no response.

Just seems like the sort of thing that could confuse people - people like me.

Hm... that's weird, can't find it either.

I actually emailed the developer 1,2 weeks ago about an issue, couldn't log into multiple gmail accounts, said it was an issue due to some change google made and that he was planning on releasing an update for it. He hasn't released an update, however, I no longer have the issue.

I think he said something about making changes to the app in order for it to work better with gmail, so maybe he took it down to for now, not sure though.

Let me if you find out why it's gone.

An update just popped up for me - and it appears to be back in the app store.

It shows "updated July 8th" - 15 days in waiting?

This walled-garden/"to protect us from ourselves" stuff is getting so old.
