Main differences between ATV2 and ATV3?

You are correct, ATV3 have an improved processor and Apple allow it to playback 1080p content, it also have a better antenna (Dual) to improve wifi reception, everything else is the same.

Ah, thanks. I'm mainly interested in AirPlay Mirroring with my new iPad 3 (or whatever you want to call it) and the "apps" setup they have with the new one. I have a smaller 32" that's only 720 so I figure I'll stick with my ATV2 rather than upgrade. I may buy a new one when I get a larger TV, we'll see

Sound like a plan, you can get the new "Apps" setup on the ATV2. I got a Sony 720 32'' on the bedroom, and the ATV2 is perfect there.
