Riot Games has announced that League of Losers will be getting Valorant's invasive kernel level anticheat Riot Vanguard soon...but only for the Windows version

The Mac version of the game will not have it, because in their own words "it's not required since Macs are substantially different"

Bet $5 the real reason is because Apple laid down the law and told them "if you put your rootkit on macOS your developer account is getting revoked."

I’m guessing it’s more they just went with (or were directed toward) the DeviceCheck APIs. But we’ll see when they release it.

People who play League of Legends deserve it.

With the addition of Vanguard, macOS is now objectively the best place to play League of Losers now just for the simple fact you don't have an invasive kernel level anticheat to worry about, an anticheat that never goes away even if you uninstall the game.

The absolute state of Riot Games good lord. I am so glad I never got into their games. I've seen what they do to people.

One of the few times you and I will agree on something, which reminds me

I'd consider it a challenge if you'd included "No Proton" in it. Otherwise it just looks like an advertisement for Proton. But that's my lame opinion.

Oh honey you have no idea what I'm currently going through

Having blurry hair is almost like a hallmark MetalFX signature now. The recent RE4r port on the iPhone and iPad have locked graphics settings, upscaled something like 720p (or less?), Leon's hair looks to jarringly distractive since his body and the environment are relatively much smoothly rendered.

Then on the Apple Silicon Macs, anything less than an M1 Pro or so cannot play on the native MacBook display at "native" res, again the hair issue just sits in your face. On my M3 Max 16", outputting to a 4k TV, as a result I stick with 2160p while tweaking all else just so to eliminate that issue to start with.

I wonder why Prince of Persia wasn't released for macOS/iOS. Seems like an easy port to make (it runs really well on Switch).

Maybe this could be a substitute for Armored Core VI. Armor Attack is an online PvP cross-platform game coming to Mac and iOS. Doesn't have single-player mode.

Annnnnnnd dead on arrival. Nothing can substitute Armored Core. FromSoftware has perfected mech games. Armored Core is known for your mech being fully simulated through every individual part, making building it one of the most important thing you need to do as your build could mean the difference between completing the missions or not. You can't easily recreate that especially without a damn single player.

Besides, why would you want to get a substitute for Armored Core VI, when you could just play Armored Core VI on your Mac right now? The game runs perfectly through Whisky and CrossOver.

The Elder Scrolls: Gold Road is coming to Mac on June 3.

Some upcoming Mac games. Arctic Awakening has a demo and is an Apple Silicon only game.

It shows just like RE4. Supposedly if you buy it on macOS it will also work on iPhone/iPad.

You mean the line where it says "Apps for Mac, iPhone and iPad"? I thought that showed the compatibility but I guess that shows the universal purchase because on my Mac Resident Evil Village only says "Mac" and on my iPhone it says "Apps for iPhone and iPad".

Death Stranding is then universal and it costs the same as on Steam, $40 but here in Sweden it costs about $24 in MAS? I won't complain. :)

Ubisoft and Mac seldom go together. But yeah, it seems like a perfect example of a game suited for Macs and their limited GPU power.

I have never held out much hope for Mac gaming. Long since bought an OLED Switch, Xbox Series X and PS5 for games.

But a switch is not comparable, mobile gaming that must suit you (I think it sucks, small screen what is the fun? Like watching A class movies or Series on a Phone, what a waste :) ). I also have a Xbox and PS5 and for the latest I only played the Last of US and the other Naughty Dog games as they are brilliant, as for the other games not really so barely touched them. It all is in personal things what you like and not.
Consoles personally I don't see them as a competitor for Mac gaming, people play on Mac if they already have a mac and the game is there. I play personally BG3 and WoW that kills enough of my time, but are running excellent (but it could be better :p ) on Mac (i do have a M2 Max with a Asus 27 Oled screen).

I play the Switch docked like 95+% of the time. Games like Tears of the Kingdom are borderline unplayable to me in handheld mode, even with the larger display of the OLED model. And my hands experience such pain. The Pro controller is infinitely better for my hands.

I’ve got all my consoles hooked up to a 32” 165Hz VRR HDR monitor, which I also use with my MBP, so they’re readily available. Ironically, the refresh rate is only awesome with my Mac connected. Buttery smooth when swiping between spaces.

GeForce Now recently launched in South Africa, so might give that a try soon.
