How is it possible that Apple didn't allow a user the ability to remove themselves from group chats?! Every single IM platform (mobile, web or desktop) in the world has this ability.

Last night a bunch of my friends were watching the Monday Night Football game and I one of them started an iMessage group to chat about the game. Well one of my friends wanted to go to sleep (game was on until 12:30am EST) and was unable to remove himself from the group so that his phone didn't vibrate every 5 seconds.

The ONLY way to get out of it is to turn off iMessage completely or to have everyone in the group create a new group altogether. Even the group creator is unable to remove a member from the chat. This is a major oversight on Apple's part and something that needs to be addressed asap.

Can't add anyone after the group conversation starts either. Lame.

Apple really needs to address some of these shortcomings. I hope it's sooner rather than later.

One question i had was: How do you text multiple people at once WITHOUT making it a group chat?
