I was in the Accounts settings in system prefs as I was hoping to tick box the "Allow guests to log into this computer" However as soon as I tick that box on my unibody I run into problems!

Unfortunately I know nothing about console.log but if I paste here what I am getting perhaps someone can shed some light? Failing that can anyone suggest me making this post elsewhere that maybe of any help? Thanks

Try to enable guest access, I get a spinning wheel

I was having the same problem after a bunch of updates. Reverting /System/Library/User Templates to the defaults (I'd modified it to customize the Guest user's Dock icons etc.) fixed it. Now I'll see if re-customizing kills it again...
