The iOS does need a complete overhaul

Apple just keep throwing hardware into new Pros and for what?

I know people will just keep upgrading, but that point of a device being more powerful for its software has come and gone years ago, they need to start from the ground up and actually harness the power!
It's very much gettign to the point where for folks to really use the full horsepower available and for app devs to start offering feature parity it needs to become a more open platform like MacOS.

Apple consumers who use devices for 4 years and declare they’re happy, really shouldn’t clutter the forum with their views. They are irrelevant.
I still have my 2010 Mac Pro significantly upgraded and running smoothly and used (though less often now that I have an M1 Mini as of a couple months ago). Still have a couple 2012 minis around and in use too, the server version was a solid quad core workhorse that has just enough horsepower to still be useful in day-to-day use. Have a 2012 air and MBP kicking around too that can still be useful. All those machines are 10-12 years old. 2010-2012 was the golden age of the Intel era, the longevity of the general 2012 lineup and the 2010-2012 MPs is kinda legendary. 4 years by comparison is nothing :)

I am definitely tempted for a new iPad Pro, but I know that the operating system is what needs upgrading. iPadOS 16 adds nothing to the table.

until the OS can do anything more then it does now, it’s hard to justify a pro. And mind you, this was typed on a pro.

Who knows, maybe Stage Manager will work best on an M2, which is why they're delaying iPadOS until October to presumably coincide with the launch of these new iPad Pro models.

The Mini probably won't see an upgrade until next year at the earliest. There was a 2 1/2 year gap between the 5 and 6. There was a 3 1/2 year gap between the 4 and 5.
but now they know how much it sold well, I'm optimistic.
also, they don't have paper lightweight version yet, they need to take E-readers

Looks like a price hike and not hearing about mini LED for 11" Pro!!

So many that does not understand the difference between an app and an OS. Apps can fully utilise the M1 chip if it was written to do so. With iPadOS 16, apps can allocate 16 gb RAM so there are no excuses for the app developers anymore but whatever you do, don't blame iPadOS for the fault of app developers.

Apple should lead and put FCP and Logic on iPad (Pro).

Give us a 14+ miniLED to match these screen hungry apps!

Because you don't live in Australia. They're a cell phone provider, not a retailer per se. Though they surely have retail shops (focusing on mobile devices).
Eh?? Yes, that would make them a retailer. They sell things at a physical shop, and they do sell other things besides mobiles, Lol

It would not be the first time Apple announces and ships hardware before the OS update is available. Better get the $$$ now (CQ3) then later if you want that Apple Stock to creep up.
The new iPadOS can be released two to three months later, nobody will care.
I bet the new iPads will be announced next week, orderable with immediate availability a week after. That will get people in the store before the new phones show up which would be a great move since the week before the phones are available, it’s absolutely dead in the stores… except for the occasional customer who comes to see the new phones unaware that the phones are only viewable when you can buy and leave the store with them.

Never heard of this so called major retailer. :D
It Australian. One of our major telecoms companies — equivalent to AT&T or T-Mobile in the United States. But, fairly major retailer in terms of volume of smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches domestically sold.
