Looks great! But really not worth $!4. This should be the next finder update, rather than a 3rd party addition.

$14 doesn't seem outrageous for people who like the software, but I agree that all of this functionality should be in Finder already. Windows Explorer completely smokes Finder in terms of functionality and ease of use. It is the part of Windows that I miss the most when I work on a mac.

I tried Total Finder and then decided to uninstall it. 100% uninstall requires extra time and steps beyond the uninstall script. That did not make me happy. If I were spending money on upgrading Finder, I think I would go for Path Finder, which is more expensive.

BTW, the text editing tweak to have folders sorted ahead of files in Finder did not work for me. No problem finding the file, making edits or saving them, but it didn't change anything in Finder after I relaunched it.

Quicksilver has been updated to work with SL. It's been solid for me. I'm using ß58 (3841) and it's been great. You have to exercise caution installing plugins. Only install what you need. http://www.blacktree.com/

Check out post #7, it is not. He has links as to how to completely remove it.

By the way, for all the people that say you can do a lot of these things with QuickSilver, what do you suggest for Snow Leopard users? Quicksilver has been too buggy and slow for me. TotalFinder does make Finder take up more RAM than I would necessarily like, but I think that is something the developer will work on. If a more functional QuickSilver came out, I would totally be open to using it because I used to use Gnome Do in Linux, and it's pretty much the same.

You have to follow the instructions for sorting folders completely. You must click on Kind and you can only do this is list view. So it's a bit limited. I'm just using the Quicksilver scripts I mentioned above and am perfectly content. I have shortcuts to jump back to my open finder window and one to open a new window. Once these tweaks are set up I don't see the advantage of TotalFinder, especially considering it hacks Finder, which is the last thing I think you should want.
