I just bought a pre-owned macbook pro penryn base model from craigslist...it has the 2.4 ghz 2 gigs ram 200 gig hdd ..LED matte display..i loaded windows vista and calibrated the display with the nvidia tools. I do like the matte display, but was wondering if anyone has any experience with screen films like those offered by power support for example..looking at their site, they offer a crystal film which is suppose to mimick the glossy look..does anyone know if this would turn matte into a glossy display...and if you know any other place, like a store , that would sell this type of film..thanks..

Glossy has more glare, and also is bad for calibration if you are going for a more "True" color look.

Matte is the way to go. I wish the new iMacs were not behind glass because I think they'd make great design tools if not for that glass/glossy screen.

I just wouldn't do it.
