Does anyone know how much weight I would lose if I replaced my HDD with a SSD and removed my dvd rom from my macbook pro.

I wonder if it would put it in line with a MacBook Air..

Does removing the DVD R/W void the warranty?

You're not going to save that much weight. I guess if you want to go all out you would remove the glass from the screen too, oh and you could run with one stick of RAM instead of two. :D

The 13" MBP weighs 4.5 lbs.; the MBA weighs 3.0 lbs. You'd have to shave 1.5 lbs., which is much more than a DVD drive, HDD, and glass...
