Hi,

I remember from in the first Apple ad for the iPhone 4S thet siri read new messages as soon as they arrived. (woman gets a message, siri says "new notification from messages: you have a new message from sandy cheng ... ")

That doesn't happen with me, I have to summon siri and ask her to read my new messages.

Why?

(note: in notifications > messages, i have show preview on)

Woman in commercial is using accessibility functions because she is vision-impaired. You can turn accessibility on and get the same functionality I think.

Thanks, but what should I activate specifically, I've tried voice over but it even changes the way I scroll

I think dealing with voice over is worse than the problem it solves--unless you need it for vision issues. Heck just tapping an on-screen button becomes a pain.

I know that's why I didn't turn it on - and even with voiceover, the iPhone doesn't read your new messages
