Interesting... the Safari update showed up right away, but still no Sonoma update for me (as of this moment).Update out for Sonoma 14.7.4 and Safari 18.3.1 Go to System Settings and find it there.
Apple does not disclose security updates of Beta version.Anybody know of PB 18.4 has these fixes already rolled in?
Same here.Interesting... the Safari update showed up right away, but still no Sonoma update for me (as of this moment).
I imagine it'll show up soon.
To be fair iPadOS 18.3 is working just fine on my AI-proof A13 equipped iPad. The original 18.0 was a disaster, most unstable update ever, or at least since System 7.5.2, the first PCI PowerPC OS. (shudder)Nice try Tim. I’ll keep my good old Sonoma and my iOS 17.7… they’re running just fine and are certainly not bloated as Sequoia and iOS 18.

Thanks for clarifying and yes, I completely agree that written communication can be tricky sometimes. No offense taken and please, accept my apologies if in any case you felt I was being rude to you. That was not my intention.
I'm in Austria, but from Italy, and yes, the differences between continents/countries and cultures sometimes can help those kind of misunderstandings to happen as well.Get a room already!
I agree with both of your sentiments. One who regularly “steps” in it where sarcasm doesn’t translate well to text (without proper context) and across continents (hello UK vs eh rest of the world? Hehe)
PERSONALLY, I dislike the Apple “soft power” way, where they sneakily force you to do it like they want, until they just plainly force you. Always held me away from Apple, this “we know best, you know very little, be joyful you’re allowed to use our products”.
I’m on 17 because of Photos and the initial bugginess…which seems not to have been resolved completely (which is embarrassing), although seems to have gotten better. This is also the only way to let Apple know we’re not that happy how they are doing things…except for screaming into a bucket and posting about it here. 🖖
But then don't moan if your devices are attacked in some way.Fair enough. Your response though, could've been more articulated and less sarcastic. As you said, this is an open forum, so anyone can express their opinions (always respecting others). If you think my choice is wrong you could have explained why and gave me your opinion making a constructive debate instead of just mocking me with your sarcasm.

How many times have I moaned about having devices attacked in this forum? NONE.But then don't moan if your devices are attacked in some way.
My old PC is still on Windows 10, and I am not chaging it, but I know the risk of running an unsupported OS, or it will be n a few months time.
I do understand where you are coming from with the bloat, will kind of, the AI stuff for a start and even on this update, Apple turn AI back on, I wonder if the security fixes are really security fixes and Apple is thinking if we keep turning AI on, people will get fed up and leave it on and maybe use it.
If you do not care why post? I seriously do NOT care if you have some anti-apple stance on updates. I come to these forums to see if the update caused any serious issues. Your negative opinion posts are just unnecessary distractions.I do as I wish regarding the updates of my Apple devices and I couldn't care less about your (or anybody else's) opinion.
I don't know how many times you have moaned about having devices attackes, just saying, don't moan if it happens if you are not prepared to update. How many times have I moaned about having devices attacked in this forum? NONE.
For your information I have worked in the IT and IT- Security field for years and know very well the risks I take for not updating to the late version.
Again, I KNOW other's opinions will be probably different of mine, and that's ok, that's what makes the world interesting.
Being a bug or not, as some people discuss here on the forum, I don't like the fact that AI turns on after every OS update. The problem is NOT having to turn it OFF again, but the fact that APPLE seems to don't care /respect their consumer's choices. I UNDERSTAND that the future might be AI, but right now I DON'T WANT it nor I DON'T NEED it enabled on my devices. I have NEVER used Siri, I have NEVER owned Alexa, Google, etc types of devices for security reasons and I can live very well without this type of devices.
Yes, I am an old woman (Gen X), I grew up without technology and had to do things by myself (researches, find the directions using a paper map, etc). It's nice to have something that might help us when we need? YES, definitely, but right now, I don't need this kind of help and I should have the right to choose if and when I want those things ON or OFF on my devices.
Yep, it did that, I wish Apple would not push it so much or at least give people a choice to opt out with a dialogue box that comes up just after the update. Maybe they think people will get fed up of turning it off and leave it on, but it don't mean they will use it.A gentle reminder for those that don't wish to use Apple Intelligence.
Updating your device switches it back on, so it is necessary to go inrto Settings and turn it off again.
This is false.
Thanks! My posts are as much as unnecessary and distracting as your answers to them. My advice? Just keep scrolling, then! Have a nice life. 👋If you do not care why post? Yeah I’ll passYou know, they need to push you "gently" to use Apple Intelligence.
Same kind of thing that happens when Apple, after a MacOS Sequoia update, turns on Apple Intelligence again.
today I have the pesky settings software update notification and I can’t get rid of itYou know, they need to push you "gently" to use Apple Intelligence.

I’ve got iOS 17.7.2 and Sonoma 14.7.3 and have no desire for the new bloated updates either. I hate how Apple keeps trying to push you to the latest and not issuing updates to the last generation. It seems like with every new release they break more than they fix and I’m getting tired of it.Nice try Tim. I’ll keep my good old Sonoma and my iOS 17.7… they’re running just fine and are certainly not bloated as Sequoia and iOS 18.

Sonoma 14.7.4 is out.I’ve got iOS 17.7.2 and Sonoma 14.7.3.
Thanks I found it.Sonoma 14.7.4 is out.
Good advice!! You should always check, but I bit the bullet and updated two days ago from Sonoma to Sequoia 15.3.1 and turned off AI right away. Yesterday I updated to 15.3.2 and immediately checked, but this update did not turn AI back on. Maybe it's a delayed action-- I better check again!A gentle reminder for those that don't wish to use Apple Intelligence.

What’s going on with the emoji keyboard? I use it a lot. Something I’m overlooking?Have they fixed the emoji keyboard yet? Been waiting since 18.0 from when they broke it…
