I can't figure out how to make the words in my table of contents connect to the pages which are listed on the right margin using "........" as the connectors. I've been typing each dot but depending on the length of the words, the dots don't match up to the dots above. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For Example:

How to make dots . . . . . . . . . . . .1
Enabling dots . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .2

Thanks
Steve

How are you trying to do this?

Are you literally just writing the table of contents by hand and just putting loads of .... in to make the lines.

Because if you have the styles done correctly you can automatically create a table of contents.

Insert - Index and Tables - Table of Contents.

Yes, Word can do this for you automatically. For every item you want to be in the TOC, select it and give it a Style. Then go to Insert > Indexes and Tables > TOC as xUKHCx said. Click Options and it will allow you to choose the TOC level that you want each Style to be.
