I just bought my new peryn MBP. For some reason there's a stupid "SYNC" logo on the menu bar at the top. I can't seem to make it disappear. How do I do it?
Generally anything can be removed from the menu bar by holding Command and then dragging the icon off of the bar.
You can also change the order of icons in the same way.
You can also look in the all mighty system preferences under .Mac and Sync.
There's something there that might help you remove that unwanted item in the "Menu Bar"
I didnt notice anything under the system preferences (.mac) menu. The command trick worked great though. You learn something new every day. Thanks.
System Preferences -> .Mac -> Sync Tab -> bottom of window there's a checkbox that says "Show Status in Menu Bar"
That wont show unless you have .Mac
In the case of the original poster, they had a new Mac without .Mac activated on it.

Isn't there a SYNC option in System Preferences then? I'm not at my Mac to verify this but I'm positive there's a SYNC icon, then the option to remove the Sync icon in the menu bar should be there.
Regardless if it's there under .Mac or under Sync, it can be removed via some options.
Sync is not exclusive to .Mac, since I DO have .Mac that's where I see the option to remove it from menu bar which is why I posted it and also the OP's title said .Mac which is why that was the first place I looked to verify the option was there.
And to further clarify the OP did not say whether he does or does not have .Mac account.
