Making my mac sleep when download finishes

Is there any way for a mac to automaticaly sleep/shut down when a download finishes and/or when a program exits?

This would be a great function, also I can imagine using it for burning dvd's when they have to be encoded first (its a very long process)

This way i can just go to bed, and i can sleep better once the fans stop going! In the morning, all is done!

Use the 'energy saver' from your system preferences. Once your mac stops working (after download or burn), it will start timing to go to sleep.

Yes, I let iDVD to encode/burn overnight, but I never use this feature. My sleep timer is set to Never.

My dad usually comes home at 2-4 AM, so it's he who puts the computer to sleep
