Is there any way for a mac to automaticaly sleep/shut down when a download finishes and/or when a program exits?

This would be a great function, also I can imagine using it for burning dvd's when they have to be encoded first (its a very long process)

This way i can just go to bed, and i can sleep better once the fans stop going! In the morning, all is done! :)

Use the 'energy saver' from your system preferences. Once your mac stops working (after download or burn), it will start timing to go to sleep.

Yes, I let iDVD to encode/burn overnight, but I never use this feature. My sleep timer is set to Never.

My dad usually comes home at 2-4 AM, so it's he who puts the computer to sleep :)
