Making people send texts to me?

Last week I moved away from my iPhone to another device but I still have an iPad. When I send messages to people from my new phone, their responses are coming through as iMessages on my iPad. Is there anything I can do to make sure texts are sent or do I need to ask my iMessage-using friends to do something?

I believe they need to change you in their contacts as not having an iPhone.

Its something like delete and readd the number I believe.
