White is a very popular color within this group, and wisely Apple adopted this color for their power cords, then iPods and the original plastic MacBook.
Immediately the increase in demand validated Apples choice of white. Sales of iPods to women skyrocketed as did the sale of MacBooks. Prior to this surge, Apple's sales to women were very soft. Now having turned robust, Apple found it's key to success with the ladies. Thus that cemented Apples adoption of white as their signature color. It's why you never see any Apple laptop cords or peripheral cables in any other color than white.
Today it's OK for men to be seen with white. Especially in Metrosexual Cities.
