Malfunctioning text tone question

If you sync a custom ringtone for the text tone will it still use the tri-tone sound or will it use the synced one despite the bug? Thanks. I don't really want to install it and find out that my text tone doesn't work. I know, it's a shallow reason.

Possibly related to the OP's question, but since I updated to 7.0.4, my daily alarm no longer uses any of my custom tones. If I try, it defaults to "The Opening" tone. In the alarm settings, it shows that I have selected my custom tone, and if I touch that, it plays my custom tone. But when the alarm actually goes off, no dice, it plays the default ring tone. This wasn't happening under 7.0.3 and yes, I did report the bug to Apple. Just wondering if this is what the OP might be referring to.
