i have noticed my 8month old imac has been slower then usual and am getting the spinning wheel of death more then normal. At my work we use malwarebytes to clean up our PC's and it works pretty good.

anything like this for mac i could use/scan to clean my imac up?

There has never been a virus in the wild that runs on Mac OS X. The handful of trojans that exist can be easily avoided with some education and common sense and care in what software you install:

Use Activity Monitor to see what's using system resources.

most likely not a virus, currently the only viruses out are for old Apple Os's and most have been patched by apple. Mal ware for the mac is active but this is different than a virus.because of the way mac Os in constructed it is extremely difficult for a virus to effect multiple programs on your computer since root access would be needed. In fact 99 percent of Malware on macs is usually due to user errors like downloaded pirated software or frequenting downloading from dangerous websites.A good rule of thumb is to never give your password to unfamiliar programs.

as for a clean up that's a good idea whether somethings wrong or not.check apples website for a neat program called cleanmymac,it isnt free though.

One app that I would not recommend, based on the number of complaints that have been posted in this forum and elsewhere, is CleanMyMac. As an example: CleanMyMac cleaned too much
