    Hello,

I am writing this to inquire about whether or not MAMP Pro can be reliably used on a live server, serving sites to the web.

Should I attempt to use MAMP Pro, or just install and use apache, php, and mysql separately. (I am aware of lions default apache install, I'd probably use it)

I am planning on collocating a Mac Mini and would like to use MAMP Pro to administer the server.

Any help or suggestions are much appreciated!!

    Thank you,
    Stephen

You would likely be better served (no pun intended) if you can manage My SQL, PHP and the built in Apache separately.

While I appreciate the response, there is no value without further elaboration.

Well, you will learn more by setting it up yourself, and you can probably configure the separate installs much more to your liking than using a paid package. After all, the software is free.
