I've been using it for about two weeks now and I really like how the phone looks and it's built to last for a long time. The gold color is really unique on its own and it's pretty dope phone if I say so myself. Yeee

When the 5s was launched I had my heart set on the gold. I lined up at the Apple Store. When it was close to opening time, they handed out cards (signifying which model you would get). By the time they got to me, all of the golf models were gone and they also didn't have any silver (which was my second choice). All they had was space gray. I was angry and disappointed. Now here's the twist. After I had the space gray a couple of weeks it began to grow on me and I actually started to like it a lot.

It seems as though every iPhone 6 and 6 Plus I see, on the street, is white and gold or white and silver. I tend to go with what ever seems to be unpopular when it comes to making a choice about models/styles/colors.

This time I pre ordered the 6s Plus in . . . you guessed it . . . space gray! Now, I have no idea why I ever thought that white bezel was attractive. I hope I don't inflame anyone and don't mean to make negative comments about the gold and silver. They just aren't my preference any more. That's why we have a choice :)

I might be a little crazy, but I am certain the gold on the 5S is different from the gold on the 6/6+. It seems a little more subtle and metallic and it appears to look different in certain lighting. It looks anywhere between a copper color and silver.

My gold 6+ doesn't....it's more of an almost yellowish gold. Sometimes I look at my old 5S (now belongs to my wife) and wish I still had it lol!

Gold is the least popular colour this time around for 6S/6S+. There is a poll somewhere in this forum.

That's because I'm pretty sure Apple called the 5S color champagne and not actually gold like they do the current models. That's if memory serves right. The champagne and gold are two separate colors which is why you're seeing the difference.

The gold in the 5s is subtle I prefer it over the more yellower gold in the 6.

I never liked the gold 5S, the gold and silver versions looked so ugly to me.

Funny until recently I thought the gold was tacky and never considered it. I just bought a mini4 in gold after seeing it in the store and I love it with the midnight blue case. I ordered the 6S in silver and now wish I had ordered the gold.

The gold on the 5S is still the color I want on the 6. I think apple screwed up with the gold on the 6 6S

As said before - it wasn't gold on the 5s it was Champagne. Apple didn't screw up anything, if anything, you have screwed up with colours.

I get a different color whenever I update. My Air 2 is gold my 5 was black my 5s was gold my original 6 was space gray and I sold it shortly after for a gold 6 Plus. I'm skipping this generation because I am trying to be more fiscally responsible haha. Some people make fun of me for the gold but I need a change. I like white iPhones because the fingerprints and specs of dirt drive me up the wall. The 5S if i'm not mistaken is only around 20 percent slower and it's still 64-bit. It'll be supported for a long time.

Memory doesn't serve. Apple never referred to the Gold 5s as "champagne". They'd have a lot of difficulty, it's trademarked and they'd likely be sued by the Comité Interprofessionnel du vin de Champagne. They're pretty litigious about the use of champagne as a colour.

This. Apple never referred to it as champagne, it was just a lot of us and other sites that called it 'champagne' or 'champagne gold'. I also used a gold 5s for a week not too long ago as a temporary phone, and I really liked the colour. I agree the 6 onwards has become more yellow.

Just reviewed the 5S Keynote. They called it gold.

Champagne came from blogs and news articles, prior to launch.

Apple was a little reluctant on introducing gold, so they made it as subtle as possible. It was a hit.

Shall I recommend rose gold for your next iPhone? :p

Apple never called it "champagne". I think they wanted to but got push back from winemakers in the Champagne Region of France.

Apple definitely (for whatever reason) changed the their definition of gold going from the 5S to the 6.

EDIT: someone already beat me to it.

the champagne color is better for the 5s. I guess apple want to amp up the gold factor because of China with the 6. Both look stunning in my opinion. I just like the champagne color better.
