My child has an Apple Watch with data. I wanted toy check for updates and anything else.
I haven’t paired it formally with my phone in many months. To my surprise, it wouldn’t. It just failed over and over.
The best I could find was to unpair. This of course resulted in a reset of the watch, and the need to setup the watch again.
When I tried to set it up again, it identified that there were some backups, the latest from 9/21. I selected it. It didn’t seem to work. The watch is pretty bare, all photos, watch faces, etc. seem to have been lost. There’s no way it seems to restore the old info. The apple site says to go into the general section of settings and select the user, then go to iCloud. None of that is available. I can’t click on the watch under the Apple ID name and get in.
Is it all lost? Or are the backups worthless? Should I re-wipe and try again?
And… why every so often is the watch unable to pair to my phone??
Thanks!
