I am using mail to manage a .me and a .hotmail account.

I might create, read or delete mails using any one of the three devices (iMac, Air, and iPhone)

It is becoming a problem though, because if I delete a mail on my Air, it remains on the other devices. Similarly, if I delete a mail on a different device, it remains on my Air..

Is there any way that deleting a mail on one device, means it is removed from them all?

My .me account is on IMAP. The .Hotmail account is (I guess) on POP3. I don't know how to change it to IMAP.

Maybe the ideal is to somehow forward all hotmail correspondence to my .me account. The problem is I am registered in so many places with Hotmail, and have hundreds of contacts acquired over many years with that address. Abandoning it completely would cause me huge problems in the short term.

Any thoughts?

It looks as though the only way of accessing my hotmail account in OSx Mail using IMAP, is to go through IZYMAIL??

IZYMAIL looks as though it is a paid service?

I'd prefer (not surprisingly) to do this for free. Is it possible?

You can on iPhones, iPods and iPads, but not on their laptops or computers. I am still trying to find a way to get it for free without using a 3rd party.

There is no way unless you are talking about an iCloud email address, which will then mirror changes through the devices. If these are all your devices, then you should migrate the .me account to the icloud address.

I set up our house emails to be read on iphone, ipad, imac, and my macbook pro. My phone and mbp have my personal hotmail, and our isp account. The ipad and imac have my wife's hotmail, and the same isp account.

There is no way to remove from all devices by removing from one other than icloud above, but if one device deletes a message and the preferences were set up to remove from server on reading, then it would not be available to other devices.

I would find this far too complex, I configure each system to read email without removing from server so each inbox has same flow, then delete locally once I've read it. That way the multiple users are sure to have had a chance to read/act on any email. If I move from one machine to the other after a long time I'll just select all/mark as read the messages, takes 2 seconds.

Every once in a while I'll go in and clear out the server build up.

You don't need any 3rd party software to read hotmail, btw. My OSX/iOS mail handles hotmail fine.
