...or, looking at it another way, we could say that we refused to allow the British Empire to impose it's games upon us. ;) :D

But football is certainly a fourth or fifth sport in the US. I think it may someday be much more popular though.

But you allowed our comedy to be imposed upon you :D

Anyway, Soccer (I used to call it football before all of the playacting and allround girliness) is overrated. I reckon America should be able to put out a good Rugby Union (or even League, which is more similar to Football because it has almost a 'Downs' system) team, their winger in the last world cup looked like he was pretty fast. I'm sure America has the talent pool from College Footballers that don't make it to the NFL to make a powerful team, they just need the coaching talent to get them understanding the flow of the game, there are pretty big playbooks for Football teams so I'm sure they can handle the new information.

Oh back to the question, Manchester United, I hate them so don't mind if they go bankrupt :D (won't happen though...)

Even better - every time a Man U supporter buys fuel, he's sponsoring Man City :p

At least when we talk about football, you get the right mental image, it's a foot, it's a ball, you kick it, simple. But our colonial cousins, what's that about, they hardly ever (relatively) put the ball anywhere near there feat, and the ball is the wrong shape (far too pointy) and then there is all the padding. It's just wrong
