Hello all,

I am selling my iPhone 3GS unlocked and jailbroken with BlackRa1n/Sn0w.

However, all my personal information is still in the phone. Being that I'm jailbroken and I can't restore due to being on 3.1.2, is it safe to use the iPhone reset button to wipe all my data?

Will it brick my phone? When you do a manual reset, does it bring you to the connect to iTunes screen when done or the normal lock screen looking to be activated?

Bad choice as this will remove all firmware on phone, it will not run, won't be seen by iTunes. I assume you have no 3.1.2 hashes, so you cannot go back to 3.1.2.

There will be new unlock tools near the end of the month. Just restore once the tools come out, then jailbreak and unlock.

There are at least a half a dozen other threads about this, just read them (everybody is in a hurry to sell)

I posted this in another thread:

This is my experience on 3GS. "Erase all Content and Settings" and you will:

1. Lose your JB and Unlock.
2. Keep your 3.1.2 and baseband you were on.
3. To re jailbreak and unlock, (and this is important), you will need the Original Provider Sim card to activate your iPhone. If you do not have the original provider sim card, you will be stuck!! After you activate you can put any sim in.

4. I used Spirit to JB and Blacksn0w to unlock.

You will not be bricked and it will not go to connect to iTunes screen. You need to activate and re jailbreak and unlock if you have the correct baseband.

Maybe some of the more experienced guys can add or advise you but this is just my experience.

So after you did the reset, you just connected to your computer and ran the Spirit JB and Blacksn0w to unlock? You didn't need to do any restore with itunes, or need any apple authorization ?
This is important for people who do not have an SHSH on file with Saurik.
