Hello,

I realized today, that I had a number of e-mail messages that went missing a couple years ago. Luckily, I had a time machine backup from the prior laptop, when I had the messages.

I've extracted the needed .emlx messages from that backup drive to a local folder. When I try to move these under the ~/USER/mail/... respective mailbox folder, they don't appear in mail.

What is the best way to re-import these found e-mails manually?

Running Mail 7.3 on OSX 10.9.5

Thanks!!

What you need to do is go to File > Import Mailboxes (even though it's not a complete mailbox), leave it on Apple Mail, and click Continue. You'll be able to select your files and they'll go into a folder called Import (and you can move them once imported).
