Hi, anybody knows the manufacturer(s) and model number of the 2TB and 4TB SSD of MBP 16" 2019? Do all 4TB SSD and 2TB SSD of the MBP 16" 2019 all from the same manufacturer?

I don’t know but I would assume micron. Are you planning on soldering more space onto your MacBook?

Samsung and Toshiba have been used recently in MBPs. Did iFixIt tear down discover anything for their model?

TSB4227VE8434CHNA11926 and
TSB4227VE8437CHNA11926 Toshiba

Are they as fast as the Samsung 970 Evo and the 2TB SSD that came with the MBP 16" 2019?

If they are not made of Samsung, I cannot use the Samsung cloning software to clone the drive.

The one they had is 512GB.

you’re concerned about manufacturer for CLONING the system SSD?

Use Carbon Copy Cloner and make bootable clones easily.

From About Mac, system report, it only states: Apple SSD AP2048N.

One concern. I want to know if the 4TB SSD is as fast as the 2TB SSD as I am considering to BTO a 4TB SSD internal or 2TB SSD internal + NAS or local usb-c SSD.

I’d suggest you look in some of the benchmark threads or start an MBP16 SSD benchmark thread for users to report results. Most BTOs are going to arrive this week and next week.

Will there be noticeable different between using the internal SSD and external ones like the Samsung T5 2TB?

Do you REALLY need 1500MB/s+ or even 2500MB/s+ consistently? After ~500MB/s the majority of users really don't notice a big difference at all for most tasks.

Unless you're doing purposeful driven work (like driving 4K/8K video editing, multiple streams, etc) there is little "need" for 2500MB/s+ SSD speeds consistently. Even then, there are many exceptions. (And SSD speed usually isn't your bottleneck.)

As for the Samsung T5, some people really like the drive. But you're basically getting around SATA SSD in USB enclosure speeds. Toss a 2TB NVMe in an external enclosure and you're already in that ~1000MB/s ballpark for little additional cost (with a good enclosure).

For anyone who stumbles on this thread, the OP has started this thread for reports:
