I'm at work right now, and the model numbers are the same (the SKU would probably change) in our system. (the system that BBY's website gets it's info from...and a lot more detailed for me)
they have not added any more SKUs for ipod touch products. (usually SKUs are added when they get notified by the manufacturer that a product is going to be available and order the product, for example a few weeks before we got Wii's and PS3's last year they added tons of game SKUs and hardware)
also, there is nothing about the screen issue on the official communications from corporate/apple. there is, however, some feedback from employees that they are seeing the negative black issue all over with a large amount of units.
