I wish they'd stop this Black Friday crap. It's gotten way out of hand, and it NEVER use to be like this.

Don't see that happening since Friday you have alot of shoppers sitting at thier/relatives homes with some free time (how much uncle/aunt whatstheirname can you take).

Stores know this and run offers designed to get you in the doors.

If its the Grand Central Store...

I would fully expect them to CLOSE early, with no notification, for some sort of internal thing, aka the manager doesn't want to pay overtime for employee meetings.

Oh, and to post rude employees at the entrance essentially telling people to shove off.

Since that is what happened to me last Sunday.

Apparently John Browett has a new job as the manager of that store.

Disappointed that isn't a window display for "The new 17" MacBook Pro with 4k Retina Display". Hey, a guy can dream …

Apple Stores in mall locations may have no choice. At the one I worked at, it was part of Apple's lease that their store hours matched the mall's hours.

Haha. I used to work at that store. It's Southpoint in Durham, NC. I remember putting up that display. Crazy old photo, but not the first time it's been used on MR. I think it's still the internal photo for R049 at Apple Retail.

alright! another black friday to get stomped over by people. Somebody needs to stop black friday culture.

Look like a Toys'R'Us store..... Take down those stickers. I can't believe Apple actually go all out and do their stores Black for the privilege of just one day..

People will still visit even if its not black.... Its an Apple Store, not a supermarket.

Many U.S. and Canadian Apple Retail Stores Opening Early for Black Friday Sales

Apple doesn't recognize the meaning of Black Friday.

Smart move on Tim Cooks part. Every CEO should follow the values he is following. Unfortunately $$$$$ have taken over Family value and common sense. And the sadder part is that the customer pays for all these so called. ' amenities' as it's built into the price

family values only exist for people over 40. Majority of college kids and younger don't care about that, they would rather go out shopping and save hundreds in the process (if you know how to find a good deal) instead of sitting around a table with people they only see once a year and don't care about. And the only reason why Apple doesn't open at 12am is because they don't have any good deals and people don't line up. They don't price match so nobody goes there to save money, they go to Target or Walmart. The greatest discounts Apple offers on BF is usually $10 on an iPod or something.

And if BF is your only excuse to appreciate family values, there are bigger problems you need to deal with.

I heard my apple store is getting fined by the mall for not opening early enough.. ridiculous.

I remember when it used to be the other way around. There used to be laws saying you couldn't open on certain days including holidays (like Boxing Day, here in Canada). Then some stores decided they were going to open anyway and hold a big sale. They were fined for doing it, but they generated so much money from the sale and the buzz surrounding it that they just went ahead and paid the fine and kept doing it.

I don't consider mere 5 to 10% rebates worthy of waking up so early on a WORKING day.
