People have itunes for music to transfer music to ipod shuffles. or ipod touch
in all these years....Apple Geeks in CA...still cannot get this to work in any reliable way.
How do they justify themselves on the payroll?
I have both kinds of devices and have nothing but problems just doing the basics.
(Am running latest iTunes)

I've been using itunes on various windows PCs for around 10 years now. I've never really had any problems with it. The only problem I've had is my itunes database file has corrupted on a couple of occasions, but luckily I'm pretty stringent with backing it up so it's not been too much of a problem.

Well, I'm sorry you're having issues, but would you mind sharing what those problems are? We can't help if you just complain.

I have two shuffles and one ipod touch...both show up in itunes latest version but dragging music from sony library does nothing...I am unable to add music to either ipod....this is a basic function that Apple still does not reliably permit users to add music. This is just nuts.

Check that "Manually Manage Music" is checked under the iPod settings when you plug it in to iTunes. If it's not, you'll have to go to the Music tab and select a playlist to sync instead.

[doublepost=1487594303][/doublepost]There is NO Manually Manage Music in preferences of iTunes, or iPod touch or iPod shuffle.....

Not here? There should be. If you're trying to drag and drop music, you'll need it checked.

If you are trying to use playlists to sync a large selection of music automatically, unselect this option and go to the Music tab under Settings on the left sidebar of the iPod and select a playlist accordingly.

I solved the issue by going into Library and deleting the plist for itunes.....Now it seems to be better

If you're trying to watch the video on your computer, I don't think you can do that through iTunes. The videos in iTunes refers to synced videos from either the iTunes store or from a folder on your computer. Perhaps refer to this: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201302

The inability to export a completed video to the desk top of my Mac....is a clear FLAW in the thinking of the Geeks in Cupertino.....What were they thinking? I think these Geeks go out of their way to make everything as complicated as possible for users...Apple has totally lost their way.

Well I can see this was discussed in February, but I still think this issue is relevant. When I buy music on itunes and I move them to a list of my favorite music, it does not synchronize my iphone when I connect it to my macbook and demand it to. Also I have noticed, that itunes primarily plays what you bought from itunes when you ask it to pick random. My own cd's are ignored. I am not a happy user!

This is probably not the best thread in which to post this issue, as your issue is a bit different (not to mention the original poster's complaints were somewhat inane). I would suggest making your own thread, and also making a spreadsheet or something that provides substantial proof/experimentation that the randomization when you shuffle your music leans toward purchased rather than imported, an issue for which there could be several possible settings to check. And welcome to MacRumors! Hopefully we can help.
