I mean 'mail server problem'....

Ever since I switched to my iPhone 5S whenever I open Apple's default mail app to check my gmail inbox I am bombarded by pop ups saying "imap.gmail.com is not responding, please verify your mail settings" and "cannot connect to server" or something like that and I know that the settings are correct because I backed up and restored all my settings, files and such from my iPhone 4S to my iPhone 5S

So with effort to fix this problem I deleted both gmail accounts from my phone in the mail settings and re-entered in both of them. And the problem still is a issue.

I can still access incoming mail and send mail after I push 'OK' on all the pop ups.

Is there a way to fix this? Is this an iOS 7 issue?

So basically not using apple's mail app and instead use google's email app?

That's good to know that we're not the only ones, glad to know Google is working on it.
