Mapping programs that don't require a data connection

I'm looking to go hiking in remote parts of Argentina, along with other places. Are there mapping programs for the iPhone that have the maps pre-loaded? I'm not looking for turn by turn directions, more like the map packages you would buy or get with a handheld GPS.

there will never be with the limited memory of iPhone/iPod. the images would take up far too much space. you can however get something like this thru jailbreak. i havent tried the app myself, but you basically just put a box around the spot u want downloaded and it will do it. again tho, you will probably need a significant amount of space, upwards of 1GB.
