Maps Traffic Option?

Just noticed this in the maps app, when you click the right button to select Satellite,map or hybrid there is now the option to display traffic. Does anybody know if this is new 2.1 or has this been around for a while? Maybe i sign of future Turn by turn GPS,with traffic?

Unfortunately for you, its been there forever, even since the 1st generation iPhone came out i believe.

I see it in the 3G iPhone user guide, don't know if it has been there earlier than that, but at least since 2.0.

It's been around since 1.x software

I believe it has been there since 1.1.3, the same time cellular triangulation was introduced. It may have been there from the very beginning, however, and I just didn't realize it. 😱
