Mar. 11th Buyers - How delayed is your shipping/when did you order?

Hi everyone. First time posting here :)

Here's my info:

Shipping to the Des Moines area in Iowa. Kinda bummed it hasn't budged yet. Also looks like I managed to pick the most popular variety of smart cover! However, in the scheme of things waiting a little while isn't a big deal.

It *is* very frustrating to get up early, place an online order under the guise of "fast, free shipping" and have it end up being a long drawn out ordeal. And especially frustrating to see others who ordered the exact same thing after I did have their order ship first. That's the part I really don't understand.

This is the first - and last - time I buy any Apple product near a launch date.

i joined just now just to agree with how frustrating this is. i set my alarm for 4am east coast time just to buy this as a bday present to myself (march 12th if you're curious) and bought mine before 430am so within 30 minutes after the scheduled launch, and yet mine STILL says not yet shipped :mad: i am usually patient with things, but with this, i am baffled and irritated since i planned ahead just to get it on time and yet 5 days later, nothing... not even a sign that it's on its way

I ordered a Smart Cover, AV Adapter, and Camera Connection Kit at the same time. They were all delivered yesterday. From following other shipping threads it looks as if the AT&T models are taking the longest to ship. I haven't seen any 16GB 3G's ship in any of the threads yet. Even though I have to wait a bit longer, it still beats standing in line without any guarantee of stock levels.
 
I had 2 orders on Mar 11, both the 16GB Black wifi. Both were 3-5 Bus days, deliver Mar 18-25

The 1st order at 1:19 AM PDT and that just arrived today.
The other order was at 2:53AM PDT with a smart cover. The smart cover has shipped, but the iPad is "Not Yet Shipped" status

Ok, I just checked and now its Prepared for shipment. I will get the 2nd one early next week! Now I gotta get my freind at our US head office where all these units were shipped to ship up to me in Vancouver! Yee-Haw!

Very interesting - I see somewhere between your order and mine placed slightly over an hour earlier, the delivery window went from the 18-25th to the 22nd to 29th. That's pretty amazing. (Except that some people who ordered later in the morning have their iPad2 already and mine is still "Prepared for Shipment" as it has been for 62 hours.)
 
Im curious to see when people with the April 1 est. ship date start seeing a change in status. Maybe some of them (us) will get lucky!

me too -

i was actually awake at 4am NEW YORK TIME, because my wife was taking some medicine, but i said screw it, i will just stay in bed.

so i went to the apple madhouse about 4:45pm, and saw the line was around the block and thought oh crap. Should have ordered at 4am.....

Got home, ordered about 6pm on March 11. While i was at it i had it engraved with my wife, my 5 year old son and my name - just for fun and to be sentimental as someday we will look back at this device as an antique.

Order Says April 1 expected ship......... so now i am all over the threads to see if any of these went early.. of course none have

i am a clown - oh well, i guess in the big picture 3 weeks is nothing..

Im in the exact same boat. I went ahead and got the engraving too. Makes it more personal. Still hoping we get lucky and see a sooner date somehow :p
 
I ordered online on the 11th at 4:13 am Eastern and my iPad2 arrived yesterday, a day earlier than the FedEx estimate. Because it was a day early, no one was home to sign for it and I didn't have the signature waiver paper taped to the door, so I had to pick it up at FedEx on the way home from work.

My Smartcover won't be here until Friday. Interestingly, both shipments went to Anchorage, Alaska, but the iPad went to Newark to PA then to me. The Smartcover went from Anchorage to Memphis, where it is now.
 
It seems that shipping is just all over the place.
Lots of people who ordered as soon as sales went up : Still not even moved to "prepared to ship"
Some people have received theirs as much as 8 days ahead of scheduled delivery.
I guess all we can do is wait and see. I'm not stressing over it. It'll get here when it gets here. At the worst, mine should ship out 2 more weeks. No big deal!

Agreed, mine were ordered at the below time and are not set to arrive until this coming Thursday :confused:

I'll never order from the Apple online store again. I'd rather stand in line.

Glad to see that the times are getting gradually closer to mine. Makes me think that MAYBE, just MAYBE, I'll get my shipping moved closer. :rolleyes:
